Lifespan Religious Education
General Information
Registration
Registration for all children and youth is required annually.
Registration places your family on the R.E. mailing list and ensures that you
will receive all mailings relating to your child's class, curriculum-related
mailings, field trips, and special RE events. Also, registration informs us
about any special needs, allergies, etc. that we need to be aware of concerning
your child. Open a registration form in HTML
format here and send it in or drop it off on Sunday.
Attendance
In order to provide a sense of community in the classroom and continuity in
course content, consistent attendance is important. We realize that not everyone
can be here every week. Please let your child's teacher or your adult group
facilitator know your attendance schedule so s/he can plan accordingly.
Visitors and Newcomers
We welcome visits from those who are discovering our R.E. programs for children
and youth. We encourage newcomers to complete a visitor information form. To
facilitate a warm, positive introduction for visiting children or youth, we
suggest that parents or guardians introduce themselves to our Director of Religious
Education, members of the RE Committee, and your children's teachers. Parents
are always welcome to visit their children's classrooms. Please feel free to
ask questions about our program.
Parent Responsibilities
Prior to R.E. classes or activities, and after 12:15, children and
youth are the responsibility of the parent or other adult who brought them to
church. Please be courteous to your children's teachers by picking
up your children promptly by 12:15 so that our teachers may enjoy the social
hour. Our R.E. program relies on parent volunteers. We ask that all parents
donate a minimum of 4 hours of volunteer time each semester, as well as drinks
and non-perishable snacks for Sunday morning classes.
For youth outings and events that take place off the church grounds, parents
will need to complete and sign a permission
